Elsa Maria Carvalho Gomes
Coordenadora do Laboratório de Petrografia

The Petrography Laboratory has an essentially didactic vocation. It has been hosting practical classes in the following subjects: Mineralogy, Igneous Petrology, Sedimentary Petrology, Metamorphic Petrology, Non-Metallic Mineral Resources and Metallic Mineral Resources, from the Degree in Geology, and Observation and Experimentation in Geology, from the Master's in Biology and Geology Teaching. It is installed in two contiguous spaces, rooms C329 and C330, of the DCT.

This Laboratory is equipped with didactic collections of crystallographic models, minerals, rocks, thin sheets and polished surfaces, used in teaching practical classes on the identification of minerals and rocks, at mesoscopic and microscopic scales.
