Geologist Sérgio Esperancinha, a research fellow at the Department of Earth Sciences at FCTUC, wrote a column for Público.

"Look around you. How many objects of daily use are linked to the exploitation of a geological resource? I tell you: all! And all, without exception, have some kind of impact on the planet."
