The course aims to train professionals with technical and scientific skills that make it possible to make the most of geological resources, namely in the areas of prospecting, selection, exploration, improvement, impact assessment and environmental recovery. The training also allows the development of skills related to geotechnical prospecting and monitoring of engineering works, such as dams, communication routes, tunnels, buildings and coastal works, allowing to find the right solutions for the location, design, construction and durability , considering not only the geological aspects, but also those that make it possible to minimize impacts on the environment. The course also promotes the development of training related to the characterization and enhancement of the territory in order to contribute to its management and organization, considering the assessment of natural and technological hazards such as the occurrence of floods and landslides on slopes/slopes
