The CENTER OF GEOCIENCES (CGEO) is a center for multidisciplinary scientific research, technological development and innovation, based at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, constituted by the University of Coimbra (UC), the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT), by the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and by the Instituto Terra e Memória, in Mação (ITM), which stems from the Research and Development Unit 73, financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and integrates researchers from various institutions, establishing themselves in the continuity of the Geosciences Center of the University of Coimbra, whose existence took place within the scope of the National Institute for Scientific Research (INIC).
