The scientific objective of this project consists of transcribing the Latin text and translating, in twenty volumes, over 3000 pages of Latin commentary on Aristotle’s philosophy produced between 1592 and 1606 by the Coimbra Jesuit School, which have since come to be commonly known as the “Coimbra Course”.
The first bilingual edition and complete translation of the Comentários a Aristóteles do Colégio Jesuíta Conimbricense (Commentaries on Aristotle by the Coimbra Jesuit College) will be accompanied by a philosophical analysis and a study on its influence across the globe.
