There is a new corner to be explored in the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra: the Sensory Garden changes along with the seasons and stimulates all our five senses.

Smell, feel the touch, either rough or soft, and even taste the flavour: some plants guide us through the five senses. This is how the Sensory Garden of the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra (JBUC) was designed. A unique spot that invites us to learn more about the flora that surrounds us in a unique way.

The new space is inclusive, with signage designed to reach as many people as possible. In addition, "it is the only space in the Garden where we can freely touch, smell, taste and handle the plants", says researcher João Farminhão.
