Botanical Garden hosts International Orchid Show and Sale
The exhibition runs from Friday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the JBUC Tropical Greenhouse

After a successful 1st edition - held in Coimbra in 2022 – in a partnership between the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra (JBUC) and the Portuguese Orchidophile Association, the 2nd edition of the Coimbra International Orchid Show and Sale takes place at JBUC from the 2nd to the 4th of June, (10am-7pm), "in a unique setting, the event aims to promote the knowledge and charm of these exquisite and exuberant flowering species, which so many collectors and curious people love", says the organisation.
The exhibition features "an interesting, carefully planned and diversified display of blooming orchids, thanks to the participation, collaboration and donation of plants by private collectors, APO members, who have been lovingly growing an enormous variety of species and hybrids throughout the years".
Visitors will be able to enjoy the show and the orchids sale (and other plants, such as tillandsias, cacti and succulents), as well as attend a series of talks about orchids and their cultivation (the sessions will be held at "Sala de Cultura Científica Jorge Paiva", with free entrance).
The exhibition will be on display at the East Room of the JBUC Tropical Greenhouse.
Entrance: €3.00 per person, free for children (up to 12 years old). Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketline, or on-site during the event.
