Language Courses

Tirem partido, sem hesitações, do enorme património cultural e linguístico da Europa!

Comissário Europeu para o Multilinguismo

Language and Culture Courses were planned to be offered in the first place to the academic community, but also to the public in general, to provide resources for gaining skills in languages and increasing knowledge about the respective cultures.

The aim is to answer the need for improving language proficiency resulting from the creation of a European Higher Education Area, which encourages mobility and inter-university collaboration in Europe. In addition, in the current world context, there is a real need for learning or deepening the knowledge of other languages and cultures.

The courses offered include European and non-European languages. Courses are divided into levels according to the degree of difficulty of each linguistic system. In the case of European languages, levels correspond to those defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

All the teachers are native speakers of the languages they teach and have specific academic training in these areas.

We offer semester courses as well as intensive courses in the summer months.

As a rule, continuous assessment is the preferred system of evaluation. This requires 75% of class attendance and completion of two tests. Other elements, such as class participation, homework and tasks performed throughout the course, are also taken into account for evaluation.

At the end of each level, students can request the corresponding certificate if the course has been successfully completed.
