Training course for African university lecturers

Between the 27th of February and the 10th of March, and within the scope of the SUGERE project, an advanced training course was held at the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Coimbra for teachers from 5 university institutions in Cape Verde, Angola and Mozambique, in a total of 16 participants. The course included several modules of theoretical and practical training taught by a group of 17 teachers from DCT-UC.

The course also included a field trip, on March 8, to visit the reclassified facilities at Mina da Urgeiriça and Mina Quinta do Bispo. In addition to the participants in the course, students of the Master in Geosciences also participated in this visit. The visit was conducted by professors from the DCT-UC and by EDM - Empresa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro.
