Catarina IC Paiva has a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (2004), a master's degree in Toxicology from the University of Aveiro (2008) and a postgraduate degree in Pharmacy and Medicines Law from the Biomedical Law Centre at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (2014). Specialising in Community Pharmacy (2009), her professional experience developed in this area, and between 2014 and 2020 she was involved in setting up and developing her own business. The need to reflect on her professional career and her role as a public health agent led her to a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, which she has been studying since 2019 at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra, in the area of Socio-Pharmacy. She is a researcher and collaborator at CEIS20 - Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Coimbra (2021). Dedicated to the study of cannabis throughout her PhD project, she is part of the scientific advisory board of the Portuguese Observatory of Medicinal Cannabis (2023).

Postgraduate in Social Communication Law (2018) and PhD in Contemporary Studies (2019-2022) from III/CEIS 20 with the thesis «THE ACTIVITY OF THE DOCTOR AND SURGEON BISSAYA-BARRETO IN THE HOSPITALS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF COIMBRA, 1911-1956 - contributions to the History of Medicine and Surgery in Portugal». Since 2000, he has dedicated himself to research in the area of ​​the History of the Municipality of Coimbra, having published monographs on the following parishes: - Button (2002); S. Maria Guilherme Semedo has an Integrated Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra. She is a PhD student in Pharmaceutical Sciences (specialization in Social Pharmacy) at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra and a collaborating researcher in the History and Sociology of Science and Technology Group of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (GHSCT-CEIS20). She also has a postgraduate degree in Herbal Medicines and Herbal Health Products and in Pharmacy and Medicines’ Law. She is a member of the Société d’histoire de la Pharmacie, the Sociedade de História Interdisciplinar da Saúde (Society for the Interdisciplinary History of Health) and the Ordem dos Farmacêuticos (Order of Pharmacists). He has presented oral communications at national and international congresses and published articles in national and international scientific journals. She has also published a book on the history of pharmacy and chemistry entitled Bernardino António Gomes (1768-1823), cinchona and the isolation of cinchonine. Her main research interests are History of Pharmacy, History of Medicine, and Pharmacy Law.

Pedro Ricardo Gouveia da Fonseca was born in London in 1980, son of Portuguese parents who emigrated there. Living in Portugal since 1990, he completed his secondary studies at Escola Secundária Afonso de Albuquerque in the city of Guarda. Pedro Fonseca has a degree in History (2008) and a PhD in Advanced Studies in History (2015), both at the Faculty of Arts of The University of Coimbra (Portugal). His doctoral thesis analyzed the influence of Darwinism and other theories of evolution on Portugal's scientific production of the 19th and 20th centuries. He is a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies of the 20th Century (CEIS20-UC), since 2015, and a member of several national and international scientific societies. At the teaching level, he has experience in basic, secondary and higher education. Within the scope of the latter he has taught disciplines to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Guarda Polytechnic University (Portugal) and has been regularly invited to deliver several conferences to PhD courses at the University of Coimbra. He is the author and co-author of several scientific works, published in Portugal and abroad. He has presented several oral presentations at national and international scientific meetings and as a guest speaker at conferences and lectures. He was also a member of the organizing committees of several national and international scientific meetings. Within his active citizenship, his activities as a volunteer, non-profit organization member, regular contributor to the press and regional radios and politician elected to public office. Since 2022, he has been managing innovation projects at the Guarda Polytechnic University.
