VIII Cell Culture and Tissue Training Course – 2,9,16,23 july 2021

During the last 7 years, the Cell Culture and Tissue Training Course has become an important tool for students, researchers and all the professionals in the field of biomedical sciences, allowing the implementation of new approaches on their research.

The 8^th edition of Cell Culture Course - Beyond Microscope, Culturing Life! will take place in a new modules-based format. This course aims to give theoretical and practical fundamentals of cell and tissue culture techniques, divided in 4 modules: Basic Cell Culture Concepts; Cell Culture Methods, Techniques and Applications I; Cell Culture Methods, Techniques and Applications II and Advanced Cell Culture Methods, Techniques and Applications.

This year adapted to the contingency of the current situation due to COVID-19 pandemic, the course will be held during July in a hybrid format, where the theoretical component will be online and the practical component will be on site.

The course can be attended in two modalities:

Full course (theoretical online + practical on site) with 4 ECTS

The practical component course (on site) will be held during 2 full days, in a period to be agreed with the laboratory and the participants, in July, August or September.

Theoretical course (online) with 2 ECTS accreditation

Theoretical component will be held on days 2^nd, 9^th, 16^th and 23^rd of July.

Daily registrations for theoretical components (online) will also be available.

*The practical hands-on component is dependent on the pandemic evolution, but it is planned to be held during July, August and September on dates to be agreed with the participants, in order to accomplish the COVID-19 restrictions.

2 ECTS for complete online theoretical course (20h)

The VIII Cell Culture and Tissue Training Course also confers accreditation for revalidation of the professional card of the Specialists of the College of Human Biology and Health (Ordem dos Biólogos).
