On the 23rd of July the University of Coimbra will welcome 502 high school students from different parts of the country to experience what it is like to be a UC student for a week. During the Summer University (UV), - held from 23 to 28 July - participants will have the opportunity to explore several areas of knowledge, as well as the possibility to participate in workshops, cultural, sports and volunteering activities, and also in a junior conference.

In 2023, in addition to an increase in the number of placements, the programme has also been broadened. There will be 20 workshops (there were 12 in 2022), with various activities linked to the 23 areas of knowledge available, which aim to provide complementary training in areas such as well-being and mental health, financial literacy, circular economy, photography or creative writing.

The junior conference takes place on the 27th, where participants will present insights learnt during a busy week of activities, in order to show how research in the various areas of knowledge actively contributes to societal challenges.

The 2023 edition of the UC Summer University is sponsored by the Recovery and Resilience Plan and Santander Universidades.
