Theoretical background
The NPI-13 is a short 13-item version of the original Narcissistic Personality Inventory, considered the most widely used measure of trait narcissism. The NPI-13 consists of three factors: Leadership/Authority, Grandiose Exhibitionism, and Entitlement/Exploitativeness. Items can be used with a forced-choice/dichotomous format or a 4-point ordinal format. Higher scores indicate higher levels of narcissism.
