PhD in History, in the specialty of Archaeology (University of Coimbra)

Integrated researcher at the Centre for Research in Archaeology, Arts and Heritage Sciences (CEAACP) of the University of Coimbra.

Collaborator of the transnational project DIAITA- Lusophony Food Heritage.

Collaborator of the UNESCO Chair in Intangible Heritage and Traditional Know-How (University of Évora).

Coordinator of numerous archaeological and ethnographic interventions and manager of AMS - Análise e Consultadoria Arqueológica Lda. Also taught Archaeology at the University of Coimbra.

Between 2010 and 2015 was involved in a postdoctoral project, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), which dealt with food discourses and practices, cultural change and identity building in the Mediterranean. Has recently published several books in Portugal and abroad on this topic.

Research developed on the scientific "discovery" of the Mediterranean diet and its inclusion in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Other research areas currently explored: the Iberian traditions of wine, cod, stockfish, and the Madeira’s archipelago’s food heritage.
