New publication ‼

The Asian Bed Bug (Halyomorpha halys) has shown in the last two years an exponential growth in Portugal! Besides the expansion in the central and northern coast, it has already reached the northern interior, southern coast and Madeira Island!

These data that we now publish together with José Grosso-Silva (Museu de História Natural e da Ciência da U.Porto) and Torsten van dery Heyden are the result of the ongoing awareness campaign and are exclusively from the public that reports the occurrences either on iNaturalist (BioDiversity4All - Biodiversity for All), or on the Facebook group (Percevejo asiático (Halyomorpha halys) PT) and support e-mail. This is a clear sign of the growth of this species in Portugal, which could cause agricultural losses in the near future, a little all over the country!
