New publication Calendula genome

This year is starting well in terms of FLOWer Lab publications.
Today we bring you a publication made in collaboration with Paulo Silveira's group from the Department of Biology - University of Aveiro.
In this publication we unveil a little more about the evolutionary relationships between species of Calendula existing in the southwestern Mediterranean, through estimates of genome size, number of chromosomes, ploidy level and life cycle.
This and other studies developed by Paulo Silveira's group, were important for the revision of the genus Calendula for the Iberian Flora.
