In 2021, we sampled for 1 full year in Vale de Prazeres (Fundão) - in and around Quinta da Porta - under the Cultivar project and the result is a doubling of the known bee species for the Beira Interior region! It is now the 4th region with more known species (previously 10th out of 11).
It includes 131 new species for the region, 1 new species for science (described in another work - Andrena lusitania) and 1 new species for Portugal - Macropis fulvipes!
A clear example of the potential for new discoveries in our territory! Wait to see what we sampled in 2022 in 33 new locations (between Castelo Branco and Sabugal)!
