New bee species sampled by the FLOWer Lab!

The description of Andrena lusitania was just published, a new bee species to science discovered during the sampling process of FLOWer Lab in the scope of Cultivar project! The field team, Catarina Siopa, Hugo Gaspar, Sara Lopes e Sílvia Castro, captured the specimen in a semi-natural area inside Quinta da Porta in Fundão. It is the holotype of this species, which is believed to be a Fabaceae specialist, and it was also reported simultaneously for Spain!
It was described by Tom Wood and Javier Ortiz with two other Andrena species registered in Spain!
