And ended yesterday the intensive course "Floral Biology and Pollination Ecology: from concepts to practice" that organized locally by FLOWer Lab at the Department of Life Sciences - UC under the COST ConservePlants Action.
The last day was full! We learned about the LIFE 4 Pollinators project coordinated by Marta Galloni, we were amazed by the fluorescent dye flow, as pollen analogues, in Oxalis pes-caprae, we practiced insect processing, we learned how to easily extract pollen from the insect body, and we listened to Ruben Heleno about ecological networks of plant-pollinator interactions. Finally, in the early afternoon we visited the Coimbra University Herbarium.
In the intensive course participated 21 students from 9 nationalities, and 7 teachers! Our thanks to all teachers and students for this fantastic week! They were intense days of sharing, friendship, good mood and many memories.
Our thanks also to COST - European Cooperation in Science and Technology, the Department of Life Sciences of the University of Coimbra and the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra for making this course possible.
