In this seminar, we will review two papers that analyze the possible existence of quark matter inside neutron stars (DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.129.252702 and arXiv:2303.11356). We will introduce the two metamodels used in the papers and then explain what the trace anomaly is and how it relates to quark matter. Finally, we will present the results obtained in the papers and we will discuss them comparing with microscopic models obtained by our group.
