Diogo José Teixeira Dias, a doctoral student in Cultural Heritage and Museology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (UC), won the 5th edition of the UC 3 Minute Thesis (UC3MT) competition with his thesis on the musealisation of the cultural landscape of the Islet of Vila Franca.

The final of the academic competition, which challenges students to communicate their thesis in just three minutes, took place on 8 March at the Pavilhão Centro de Portugal. The twenty finalists presented their theses to the community, vying for the opportunity to represent the UC in the third phase of the international competition organised by the Coimbra Group. Diogo Teixeira Dias was declared the winner by the jury.

Second place went to Diogo Lemos, a doctoral student in Art History, for his thesis on the symbols and signs of Portuguese art in the Paço das Escolas.

Maria Inês Caçador Vieira took third place on the podium with her thesis on the mental health of university students as part of her doctoral studies at the UC Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences.
