The Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC) will host the 33rd National Astronomy and Astrophysics Meeting (ENAA 2023) from the 7th to the 9th of September. The initiative is organised by the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences (IA) in collaboration with FCTUC and the Portuguese Astronomical Society (SPA), and takes place at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Campus II of the University of Coimbra (UC) and at the UC Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory.

The meeting is held every year, bringing together the national astronomy and astrophysics scientific community to present the latest scientific results obtained by researchers working in these areas at Portuguese institutions.

ENAA also aims to discuss and help define a strategic plan for the scientific community, aiming to strengthen cooperation between the various national science and technology system entities, structures and networks dedicated to the production, dissemination and transmission of knowledge, scientists, and the Portuguese irole in international organisations, such as the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Southern Observatory (ESO), and the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) network.
