The University of Coimbra (UC) and IberBlue Wind, a joint venture company specialising in the design, development and management of floating offshore wind farms, signed a partnership agreement on Tuesday, 28th November. The signing ceremony took place in the Senate Hall of the UC, in the presence of the Rector, Amílcar Falcão; Julio Vera, Stakeholder Engagement & Policy Manager of IberBlue Wind; and Luís Saraiva Silva, Head of the Technology Transfer Department of the University of Coimbra (UC Business).

IberBlue Wind aims to deploy floating wind farms along the Portuguese coast, with a focus on the area off Figueira da Foz. The partnership between the parties includes the provision of specialised services in the field of floating wind farms, joint applications for funding programmes, infrastruture optimisation, the development of scientific activity and cultural and educational initiatives, and the promotion of innovation and knowledge transfer activities.
