UN acknowledeges the University of Coimbra as an example of good practices in the integration of refugee students

The UC is held up as "the model of a Portuguese university" in the welcome and care of students in emergency situations for humanitarian reasons.

The United Nations (UN) has praised the University of Coimbra (UC) in an article published on the UN website for its good practices in the reception and integration of refugee students, referring to the UC as "the model of a Portuguese university".

The UC is a member institution of the United Nations Academic Impact* (UNAI) and currently hosts around 80 students of 16 different nationalities in emergency situations for humanitarian reasons (predominantly from Nigeria, Ukraine and Morocco).
