The University of Coimbra (UC) is organising the 1st edition of the Forum "Esfera(s)" [Sphere(s)], an interdisciplinary event aimed at promoting dialogue, reflection and training on matters related to the cultural sector, sustainability and social responsibility of new generations, targetting secondary, vocational and university teaching staff and students, as well as artists, creators, producers and trainers. Combining theoretical and practical training, it aims to raise awareness of the role of the arts in developing new skills and sustainable art practices.

The event will take place on 27 and 28 October at Convento São Francisco (Coimbra) and will focus on ecoacting, sustainability, training, experimentation, social responsibility and art(s), including panel discussions, training workshops as well as music and dance performances. The full programme is available in Portuguese at www.uc.pt/cultura/forum-esferas/. Participation in all these initiatives is fully funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, as part of the Living the Future Academy project, but registration is mandatory until the 20th of October (via the event website).

Fórum Esfera(s) is organised by the UC and has as institutional partners the Ministries of Education and Culture, Coimbra City Council, the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, the Santos City Hall (Brazil) and the University of Santa Cecília (Brazil). As part of these partnerships, the Forum is expected to be held annually, alternating between Coimbra and the Brazilian city of Santos.
