Farewell Lecture by Professor António Dourado

António Dourado, Full Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI) of the University of Coimbra (UC), will give his Farewell Lecture on Monday, the 18th of March, at 17:30 at the Laginha Serafim Auditorium - Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), UC Campus II, on a day chosen to celebrate his career at the Department of Informatics Engineering and the University of Coimbra.

António Dourado was the Scientific Director of the Adaptive Computation Group of the Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC) from its creation until 2019. He was Director of the Department of Informatics Engineering, elected member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (FCTUC) and of the Scientific Committee of DEI, President of the Pedagogical Council of the Department of Electrical Engineering and member of the Board of Directors and the Representative Assembly of FCTUC. He is a member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), and was co-founder of the European Control Association and president and co-founder of the PORTUGUESE ASSOCIATION OF AUTOMATIC CONTROL (IFAC National Member). He has also been a Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at the Departments of Informatics Engineering and Electrical Engineering of the UC, where he taught courses in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. He has been involved in national and international projects and was coordinator of the FP7 EU project EPILEPSIAE. He is the author or co-author of more than 250 international publications in leading journals, book chapters and conference proceedings.
