Coimbra University Press at the Óbidos International Literary Festival 2023

Coimbra University Press will conduct three conversations this Saturday at the 8th edition of Folio - Óbidos International Literary Festival 2023, addressing themes based on three books published by the UC Press.

The initiative will take place on the 14th of October, at The Literary Man Óbidos Hotel, as part of the 8th edition of Folio - Óbidos International Literary Festival 2023, with the participation of author professors and other faculty members from the University of Coimbra, and other guests as well.

The first conversation starts at 11:15 am on the theme "The trail of the path", based on the book "Walking & Cycling, a new geography of tourism", by Paulo Carvalho, professor and researcher at the University of Coimbra, with the participation of the author, Carlos Gonçalves UC and José Gaspar.

Starting at 2.15 pm, Paula Barata Dias, Sérgio Rodrigues and António Pereira Coutinho, from the University of Coimbra will talk about the theme "The thread of olive oil", a conversation based on the book Das Culturas da Alimentação ao Culto dos Alimentos [From Food Cultures to the Cult of Food], by Paula Barata Dias et al.

Finally, the third session,"The Border Line", will take place at 5:15 pm and will focus on the book "Manifesto a Crioulização" by the musician and poet Mário Lúcio Sousa (former Minister of Culture of Cape Verde), with the participation of Pedro Góis and Manuel João Quartilho from the University of Coimbra, and the musician and poet Sérgio Godinho.

Folio - Óbidos International Literary Festival 2023 will take place from the 12th to the 22nd of October in Óbidos, Portugal, bringing together writers, readers, artists, musicians, books and exhibitors.
