Applications are now open for the @RES4CITY Accelerathon, an open innovation competition that aims to bring together the most innovative minds in the field of circular economy.
Until the 15th of February 2024, students, SMEs, entrepreneurs, researchers, start-ups and organisations will be challenged to contribute to the development of smart cities.

More than a competition," Accelerathon" is an opportunity to shape the future of urban environments by looking for an innovative idea that addresses one of the following challenges: the use of smart energy storage systems to improve the accessibility and reliability of electric vehicle charging infrastructure; efficient land and soil management by transforming business activities according to the principles of the circular economy; and the creation of green hydrogen production projects.

The initiative is open to students, entrepreneurs, researchers, start-ups, universities and public or private sector organisations, with both individual participants and teams of 3-5 people. Individual participants may be assigned to a team.

Accelerathon is aimed at finding solutions and funding through an applied open innovation competition bringing together the circular economy sector to accelerate ideas and concepts related to clean energy in cities in the framework of the circular economy. The competition features an online model that includes training, mentoring, an international jury and a European Acceleration Prize that allows the winning project to apply for European funding programmes. The prize also offers the winners the opportunity to participate in initiatives related to the theme of their idea, in order to gain visibility and establish contacts with the different stakeholders.
