Bridging Musical Heritage (BMH) is a new project for the creative promotion and dissemination of Europe's early musical heritage, which aims to strengthen the existing links between research and performing centres in Portugal, Spain and France, and to extend their respective reach and influence.

The platform, which provides open-access materials and promotes the circulation of music and musicians, recently won the Best European Cooperation Project Award at the REMA 2024 - Early Music in Europe Awards, presented by the European Early Music Network on 5 June.

BMH is a consortium of several institutions: the University of Coimbra (Portugal), the University of Valladolid (Spain), O Bando de Surunyo (Portugal), Capella Sanctae Crucis (France) and Artway (Portugal).

From 11 to 15 June, Bridging Musical Heritage will hold a series of activities at the University of Coimbra to highlight the research, recovery and critical editing of the musical manuscripts from the Santa Cruz de Coimbra Monastery and the Cathedral of Valladolid. The event will include presentations, some unpublished, of the sound heritage of the 16th and 17th centuries.
