Students at the University of Coimbra now have a new study space at the UC Student Hub [Faculty of Medicine building, Campus I]. Inaugurated on the 5th of January, the room has about 50 seats and is open 24 hours a day.

The new room adds to the range of study spaces already available to UC students and was inaugurated with a visit from the UC Rector, Amílcar Falcão; the Vice-Rector for Heritage, Facilities and Tourism, Alfredo Dias; the Vice-Rector for Education and Student Attraction, Cristina Albuquerque; and the President of the General Directorate of the Academic Association of Coimbra (AAC), Renato Daniel.

"The University of Coimbra is constantly working to improve learning and study conditions for its students," said Rector Amílcar Falcão, further adding: "This new space in the Student Hub is another step towards meeting the demand for study spaces on Campus I, especially at night and during exam periods. I hope it will make a significant contribution to the academic success of our students".

DG/AAC President Renato Daniel says: "Synergies like this, which improve the quality of study for our students, are always positive. Until now, Campus I did not have enough places for students to study in the evenings. Now we have two great options - one in the Yellow Canteens (in partnership with SASUC) and another here in the Student Hub. We are really happy and excited to have this new study space".
