The second phase of applications is now open for the European Master's degrees offered by the eight universities that make up the EC2U – European Campus of City-Universities – the University of Coimbra, the University of Poitiers (France), the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Germany), the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania), the University of Salamanca (Spain), the University of Pavia (Italy), the University of Turku (Finland) and the Johannes Kepler University of Linz (Austria).

Each of the three Master's programmes - Sustainable Cities and Communities, Lifelong Wellbeing and Healthy Ageing, and Languages, Cultures and European Societies in Contact - lasts two years and is taught in English. In addition to promoting the training of professionals who can work and research to respond to the societal challenges posed by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda, the EC2U master's programmes are also designed to help increase student mobility and promote contact with new cultures and a wide network of professionals, as students can spend four semesters at several universities in the EC2U consortium.

The Master's Degree in Sustainable Cities and Communities, coordinated by the University of Coimbra, aims to train future national and international professionals from different backgrounds in the fields of environment, energy, urban planning and natural resources. This 2nd cycle training programme will ensure that students develop key skills in analysis and synthesis, problem-solving and planning, so that they can start their careers with advanced knowledge in the field of sustainability in cities and communities. The deadline for applications is 15 July.

In the field of ageing, EC2U offers a Master's degree in Lifelong Well-being and Healthy Ageing, enabling students to acquire the knowledge, professional skills, and research expertise to become specialists in interdisciplinary approaches to lifelong well-being and healthy ageing. The deadline for applications is the 20th of June.

The third programme with applications open (until the 15th of July) is the Master's degree in Languages, Cultures and European Societies in Contact, which aims to provide in-depth knowledge of the European linguistic, cultural and social landscape through advanced research methods.

More information on these Master’s Degrees is available on the EC2U website.

EC2U is a multicultural and multilingual European university alliance, coordinated by the University of Poitiers, which aims to develop an open and innovative space for free mobility between universities and cities. The Alliance is based on a unique cooperation between academic communities, municipalities, regional authorities, socio-economic stakeholders and citizens.
