A rainbow on the UC Tower to mark the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

The University of Coimbra (UC) is more colorful today, as the UC Tower is flying the rainbow flag to celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.

The day has been celebrated every year on 17 May since 1990, when the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the list of diseases. Since 2005, it has also been commemorated symbolically or through events by various institutions such as the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the United Nations.

The UC, as a "global and inclusive university", is no exception.
