The EMPREENDE UC program - Doctoral Schools Edition is an initiative of the Special Project of the Rectory UC Business in collaboration with the Doctoral Schools of the University of Coimbra. EMPREENDE UC is a training program that aims to support entrepreneurs in turning their ideas into a business model. EMPREENDE UC works on a face-to-face basis over three weeks (on 12th, 19th and 26th January 2022) in which entrepreneurs will be challenged to develop their idea, with the support of the UC Business team and guest mentors linked to the ecosystem of the University of Coimbra.
The program is composed by weekly sessions on how to design, test, validate, and communicate a business model, using a methodological approach that combines the Value Proposition Canvas methodologie and Alexander Osterwalder's Business Model Canvas. Although it is not mandatory to submit a business idea for registration and participation, applicants or teams with business ideas will be given priority during the selection process.
Applications will be selected and evaluated by the Doctoral Schools support team with the support of the Entrepreneurship Core of the UC Business Special Project taking into account the following selection criteria:
• Quality of the idea;
• Market potential;
• Team skills;
• Availability and motivation to participate.
No jury member can participate in this program and the decisions made by the jury can not be appealed. The selection will be made until 7th January 2022 and the selected applicants will be informed via e-mail. Applications may be submitted by PhD students of the University of Coimbra. Participation can be individual or in teams. To participate in EMPREENDE UC it is necessary for each participant to fill out an online application form, to which a curriculum vitae of no more than 2 pages must be attached.
The course will be in Portuguese.
