Jorge Almeida

Dream and hard work towards excellence in Neuroscience research

Jorge Almeida is a professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Coimbra and director of ProAction Lab - The Perception and Recognition of Objects and Actions Laboratory. He came to the UC in 2013, after having worked at Harvard University. He coordinates the project ContentMAP, which seeks to study the way information is mapped in the human brain and how this organisation allows the quick and effective identification of all kinds of objects or tools in everyday use.
