The Research Innovation and Sustainable Pan-European Network in Peripartum Depression Disorder (Riseup-PPD), coordinated by the University of Coimbra, will hold the international conference "Knowledge and Implementation Gaps in Peripartum Depression: Innovation and Future Directions", taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on the 21st and 22nd September 2023.

The Riseup-PPD network was created in 2019 and is chaired by Ana Ganho Ávila, researcher at the Centre for Research in Neuropsychology and Cognitive and Behavioural Intervention (CINEICC) of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra.

Currently bringing together 230 researchers from several countries (31 COST countries plus Australia, United States of America and Canada) and various disciplinary areas, the network's main goal is to identify and fill gaps in research on depression in the perinatal period, while promoting social awareness on this issue. Peripartum Depression is a depressive disorder that occurs during pregnancy or after childbirth.

Calls for Abstract Submission to the 2nd International Conference of the Riseup-PPDA – oral and poster presentations with state-of-the-art research findings and innovative approaches in peripartum depression – are open until the 31st of March.
