Solemn Opening Ceremony of Academic Year 2022/2023 to be held next Wednesday
The ceremony will take place at the Great Hall of Acts, starting at 10h30.
The Rector of the University of Coimbra (UC), Amílcar Falcão, will address the entire University Community on the 28th of October, in the traditional solemn Opening ceremony of the new academic year at the University of Coimbra.
The ceremony, which marks the official start of the 2022/2023 academic year, will take place in the Great Hall of Acts (Sala dos Capelos), at 10h30. In addition to the Rector's speech, the ceremony includes the Sapientia Lecture, delivered this year by Duarte Nuno Vieira, Full Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra.
The ceremony will also be attended by the President of the General Board of Associação Académica de Coimbra (AAC - Coimbra students' union), João Caseiro.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on uc.pt/emdireto.
Also on Wednesday, there will be a Welcome Session for new UC students and the traditional Opening Concert for the academic year.
