The Computer Centre (CIFEUC), with facilities in the Research Block and the Teaching Block, ensures the management and maintenance of the existing IT systems, network and equipment at FEUC.
The IT infrastructure is based on a fiber optic column, which runs vertically through the Research Block between IT backrooms, as well as in the Teaching Block and the Central Building (Casa dos Limas).
More than 300 fixed access points are distributed among teachers' offices, computer classrooms, different user rooms and services. All FEUC buildings and part of the garden are covered by wireless - wireless network (Eduroam) under the e-U program.
The connection to the world is ensured through a connection to the Information and Communication Systems and Infrastructures Management Service (SGSIIC) supported by optical fiber (1 Gbps). This connection allows access to the Internet, also enabling the sharing of existing resources at the level of the University of Coimbra's network.
