The degree in Management (1st cycle) develops the skills necessary for the exercise of the profession of manager of private and public organizations. The skills acquired in the degree in Management prepare the access to graduate programs (2nd cycle) and in any of the specialized areas of Management.

Course Presentation
The Bachelor’s in Management seeks to provide students with the necessary skills to work as managers in private and public organizations. With the skills acquired in the degree in management, students will also be prepared to access a postgraduate program (2nd cycle) in any of the specialized areas of management. In its core scientific structure, it provides students with knowledge in the relevant fields of management, as well as a body of essential knowledge in social and technical areas, such as economics, quantitative methods, law, history, and information systems.
Curricular structure
The Bachelor’s in Management (1st cycle), which lasts three years (six semesters), is awarded to those who obtain 180 ECTS, divided into compulsory curricular units (156 ECTS) and 4 optional curricular units (24 ECTS).
The enrolment in optional curricular units is subject to approval by the coordinating body in order to ensure compliance with the regulations and enrolment limits for each curricular unit.
The selection of optional curricular units must comply with the following criteria:
three options from the Profiles, two of which (12 ECTS) must be from the "Management" scientific area; one FEUC Free option or one option listed in the Profiles (from any area);

FEUC Award 1st Cycle
The “FEUC Award 1st Cycle” ("FEUC Exemplar 1º CICLO") is a merit award designed to honour the best students in the Economics, Sociology, Management and International Relations degrees, encouraging them to continue their studies and carry out scientific research at the Faculty. This award consists of offering the best student of one of the four degrees a monthly research grant of €350 for each academic year for 18 consecutive months, starting in October of the academic year following the year in which the degree was completed.
Access to a higher education course
The students with a degree in Management have the skills to apply for a 2nd cycle course. Find more information about postgraduate programmes here.
The Management Degree provides access to several FEUC 2nd Cycle courses, including the Master of Accounting and Finance (MCF). This master's degree provides, among others, competencies to become a Certified Accountant. For this purpose, already in the Management Degree, students must take the curricular units mentioned in THE LIST OF SUBJECTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR the PROFESSION OF CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANT.
In addition to the various curricular units (compulsory and optional) included in the study plan for the Management Degree, this document also refers to the curricular units of the Master’s in Accounting and Finance to be taken later as part of this master's programme.
Career opportunities
The students who have completed the 1st cycle of studies in management can work in the administration of public and private organizations, as well as in the various functional departments, namely finance, production, human resources and marketing.
