Introduction

The Informatics Center of the Faculty of Economics (CIFEUC) was created by the FEUC Regulation, approved by rector's order of December 19, 1990 and published in the Diário da República No. 12 of January 15, 1991. With facilities in the Research and in the Teaching Block, it ensures the management and maintenance of the systems, the network and the computer equipment existing at FEUC.

The infrastructure is based on optical fiber, with a connection between the Research Block, the Teaching Block and the Central Building (Casa dos Limas).

More than 300 fixed access points are distributed throughout the teachers' offices, classrooms, computer classrooms, the different user rooms and services. The entire Teaching Block (including bar and auditorium), Research Block, part of the garden, all public spaces in the library are covered by a wireless network system (Wireless) within the scope of the Eduroam program.

The connection to the world is ensured through a connection to the Information and Communication Systems and Infrastructure Management Service (SGSIIC) supported by optical fiber (1Gbps). This connection allows access to the Internet, also enabling the sharing of existing resources on the University of Coimbra's network.

Advanced mechanisms for publishing and consulting FEUC contents, both pedagogical and administrative, are available on the Internet.

Since the beginning of 2009, a service for the creation and management of online questionnaires has been available to the entire FEUC community.
