Several challenges such as climate change, carbon dioxide emissions, ecosystems preservation, unemployment, economic competitiveness, social equity, among multiple objectives of sustainable development, force local decision makers to have timely information to debate, plan and implement sustainability strategies. This research project aims to implement a participatory methodology to build a System of Sustainability Indicators for the Portuguese municipality of Estarreja - "MAIS Estarreja ".
