Plan D - Dialogues with the Law was one of the 10 activities supported by the Initiative for the Promotion of Scientific Culture. This activity consists of a series of talks, recorded on video (between 30 and 40 minutes), which will be hosted on YouTube by the UCILeR. Each video is dedicated to a specific hot topic, in which a researcher from the UCILeR, a researcher from another research centre/faculty at the University of Coimbra or the Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT), and a representative of civil society, non-governmental organisation, company or other relevant to the topic under discussion are invited to take part in the dialogue. The debates will be held in various spaces at the UC and the community, depending on the theme, to highlight these spaces, which will also be filmed.

Plan D - Dialogues with Law aims to raise awareness of the cross-cutting nature of law in all areas of human life, by combining this area of knowledge with other fields of knowledge, which are fundamental to responding to current societal challenges.

The team, led by Marta Graça, is made up of Filipa Bessa (CFE), Tiago Cruz (CISUC), Hélder Sebastião (CEBER), Fernando Borges (IJ), Cristina Perestrelo (IJ), Louise Beja (IJ), and Júlio Costa Pinto (ISMT). This project is the result of a partnership between IJ and ISMT, more specifically with the Multimedia degree programme.

The initiative funds ten activities/initiatives that promote the dialogue between science and culture and the dissemination of knowledge produced at the University to a non-academic/scientific public. Organised by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research of the University of Coimbra (IIUC), the awards aim to promote dialogue between science and culture.
