The University of Coimbra Institute for Legal Research (UCILeR) celebrates the Human Rights Day, this year under the theme "Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All", with two videos intended to mark the event and reflect on the importance of human rights. The videos were shared on UCILeR 's social networks.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the UN General Assembly, on December 10, 1948, and later implemented through Resolution 423 (V), in 1950. Since then, Human Rights Day has been celebrated on December 10.

The Declaration is an important document that proclaims the inalienable rights of all people, without exception or discrimination. With the Universal Declaration nearing its 75th anniversary, it is a time for celebration, but also for reflection: What do we mean by human rights? Are there threats or impediments to their realization? How do we ensure their full exercise?

In order to mark this date, so important for all of us, and to reflect on these issues, the UCILeR shares two videos with the participation of law students from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (FDUC): Lucca Murgel, Rui Gomes and Vitória Isacenco.
