On April 17-18, the 1st International Meeting - Workshop: Innovative Experiences in Environmental Participation was held at the College of Trindade. Researchers from Brazil and Portugal,as well as students from the University of Aveiro and the University of Coimbra, participated in the event.

This event, focused on citizen participation, shared Portuguese and Brazilian experiences in public actions for the environment, including those carried out by young people in formal school and informal contexts, such as demonstrations, strikes, or other initiatives.

On the second day, a participatory environmental workshop was held, with the participation of 30 young students from the University of Aveiro. They addressed following question: how to involve people in building a fair, effective, and efficient solution to the socio-environmental problems identified with the available resources (knowing that the only limit is the imagination)?

The meeting was co-organized by the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil. Watch the videos produced as part of the event, about student climate activism: Mudar o Rumo da História (Portugal) and Embaixadores Ambientais (Brazil).
