Hot off the press: Human Dignity and the Autonomy of Law

11 january, 2023≈ 2 min read

The origins of this book, notwithstanding the autonomy of the final result (and the enriching participation of new interlocutors), lie in a Special Workshop of the XXIX World Congress of the IVR ("Dignity, Democracy, Diversity") that took place in July 2019 at the University of Luzern. Its fourteen chapters are divided into the following six parts: Exploring the “Conceptual Bonds” Between Human Rights and Human Dignity/ Exploring the Problem of the Autonomy of Law in the Trends of Contemporary Legal Discourse(s)/ Intertwining the Claim to Autonomy and the Concept of Human Dignity/ Dialogues with Emmanuel Levinas/ Dialogues with Jeremy Waldron / Exploring Human Dignity in the Boundaries of Law.
