Experts discuss gender equality

On 7 and 8 March 2024, the First Conference: Constitutional Transformations and the Principle of Equality in the Family: Meaning, Projections and Limits was held at the Palácio dos Melos.

This event aimed to promote a transdisciplinary discussion on gender equality problems and the vulnerability of specific social subjects, given the changes currently taking place in the family as a constitutive element of society and the corresponding projections in national and international Family Law. Gender equality was addressed in marital relations, de facto unions, parental responsibilities, medically assisted procreation, and the multiplication and informality of family relationships - to propose ways and mechanisms to resolve specific issues. In addition to the guest speakers, this event included presentations resulting from a call for papers.
