Dissemination event of the EU-ADAPT Project

The dissemination event of the project EU Adapt- Adaptation of rights in rem in cross-border succession within EU was held on June 23, in Room 9 of the General rooms, and focused on the presentation of results of this project, approved under the call "action grants to promote judicial cooperation in civil and criminal justice" of the H2020 programme.

The EU Adapt is online now an informatic tool in order to facilitate adaptation in cross-border successions.

Whenever a a person invokes a right in rem to which he is entitled under the law applicable to the succession and the law of the Member State in which the right is invoked does not know the right in rem in question, the EU-ADAPT app will suggest the closest equivalent right in rem under the law of that State, taking into account the aims and the interests pursued by the specific right in rem and the effects attached to it.
It provides sufficient juridical support for comparing both systems and allows to try different adaptation possibilities.
