4 Semesters and 120 ECTS
The scientific Master's programme includes an annual specialization programme and an annual dissertation, encompasses 7 areas of specialization with numeri clausi, is 4 semesters long and 120 ECTS worth. The specialization course is compsed for the most part of annual curricular units, with a special focus on seminars and working papers based evaluation. The annual character of the dissertation is designed to achieve top research levels.
Under the Scientific Master's programme, the Master's of Law degree is awarded in the following areas of specialization:
- Civil Law;
- Criminal Law;
- Law and Economics;
- Company Law;
- Philosophy of Law;
- History of Law;
- Law and Political Science.
The Civil Law area includes:
- Mention in Civil Law;
- Mention in Civil Procedure.
The Company Law area includes:
- Mention in Company Law;
- Mention in Labor Law.
The Law and Political Science area includes:
- Mention in Administrative Law;
- Mention in Constitutional Law;
- Mention in Law of Land and Urban Planning, and Environmental Law;
- Mention in Tax Law;
- Mention in Public International Law and European Law.
1. Persons who hold one of the following prerequisites are eligible to enroll in the cycle of studies leading to the Master's of Law:
a) a Licentiate Degree in Law or legal equivalent;
b) a foreign higher education degree attestting the successful completion of a 1st cycle of studies in Law designed by a Bologna Process abiding State;
c) a foreign higher education degree in Law Direito regarded by the Scientific Council of Faculty of Law as complying with the objectives of the Licentiate Programme;
d) in duly justified cases, candidates with an academic, scientific and/or professional profile recognized by the Scientific Board of the UC Faculty of Law as attesting to their capacity to carry out this cycle of studies;
2. The recognition referred to in paragraphs b) to d) of §1 is only valid for admission to the cycle of studies leading to a master's degree; it does not award its holder equivalence to a Licentiate degree nor the recognition of that degree.
- applicants to the cycle of studies leading to a master's degree must have otained the minimum final grade set biannually by the Scientific Board, until October 31.
