The international congress titled "Corporate Sustainability, Human Rights, and the Environment: before and beyond the announced directive on duty of Due diligence in terms of sustainability" aims to foster a significant and meaningful debate on this crucial subject. The event will gather national and international experts and professionals on October 27, 2023, under the organization of the University of Coimbra Institute for Legal Research (UCILeR).

The proposed directive will have a substantial impact on societal organization and production chains, as it introduces obligations for businesses to identify and address the impacts of their operations on human rights, labor, and the environment. The directive aims to strengthen the "stakeholder" approach, an integral aspect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This topic aligns with the research area of UCILeR, coordinated by Professor J. M. Coutinho de Abreu.

The congress welcomes submissions through a call for papers.

Applications for attendance will be available starting from September 4th.
