XIV Young Geoscientists Congress

The Department of Earth Sciences is pleased to announce the 14th edition of the Young Geoscientists Congress on the theme "Geology and the Chemical Elements: Marking the International Year of the Periodic Table". The theme stems from the assignment, by UNESCO, of the year 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table, to mark the 150th anniversary of Mendeleev's Periodic Table.

Associated with the Congress, the 4th edition of the photography contest will take place, on the topic of Geodiversity, open to secondary school students and teachers.

Two conferences will also take place, by Doctors Eric Font and Maria Manuela da Vinha Silva, professors at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Coimbra.

For the 3rd consecutive year, a training action for teachers will be held on March 23. More information here .
