DCT-FCTUC professor Pedro Costa led a team that carried out a study on the Algarve platform.

In the last week of January 2020, a team led by Pedro Costa (DCT-FCTUC) and with the participation of researchers from the Instituto Hidrográfica da Marinha, Univ. Aachen and the Univ. Ghent carried out geophysical data acquisition work (sub-bottom profile and sparker) and surface sediment sampling. The work took place in areas with a depth of 15-150m, in a Portuguese Navy vessel.

These works took place within the scope of the FCT-OnOff project – combining the onshore and offshore sedimentary record of tsunamis.
